Are you scrambling to find solar eclipse glasses? Well, most places are sold out. So, it is tempting to think you’ll just use your sunglasses or your bare eyes to sneak a quick peek.  Don’t do it!!! Viewing the sun can cause severe damage to your eyes.

If you can’t secure solar eclipse safe glasses, here is an interesting alternative. NASA – National Aeronautics and Space Administration has a safe solution that you and the kids can whip up in minutes using supplies you have at home!

With just a few simple supplies, you can make a DIY pinhole camera that allows you to experience the solar eclipse safely and easily.  Check out this how to video from NASA:

Once again, be sure to protect your eyes during the solar eclipse. You should never look at the sun directly without equipment that’s specifically designed for solar viewing.  Standard binoculars, telescopes, sun glasses will not protect your eyes when attempting to look directly at the sun.  The light from the solar eclipse can severely damage your eyes.
