Wyomissing Optometric Center offers a FREE vision & eye health screening for infants ages 6 to 12 months. Our doctors participate in the InfantSEE® public health program sponsored by the American Optometric Association and The Vision Care Institute of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. One of our InfantSEE® pediatric doctors will provide a no-cost one-time comprehensive eye assessment to your infant(s) during their first year of life, offering early detection of potential eye and vision problems.
Even when no eye or vision problems are apparent, the American Optometric Association recommends scheduling your baby’s first eye assessment at 6 months.
Our doctors will test for:
- excessive or unequal amounts of nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism
- eye movement ability
- eye health problems
It is important to identify children who have these issues at a young age. Poor vision development and/or eye diseases are easier to treat if diagnosed early.InfantSEE®, a public health program, managed by Optometry Cares® – the AOA Foundation, is designed to ensure that eye and vision care becomes an essential part of infant wellness care to improve a child’s quality of life.
Wyomissing Optometric Center provides a comprehensive infant eye assessment between 6 and 12 months of age as a no-cost public service.
