Fall is in full swing, soon we will be welcoming 2019. For many welcoming the new year may also involve welcoming a new health insurance or the start of a new benefit year. If you participate in a Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), or Health Savings Accounts (HSA) your benefits may expire at the end of the year. FSA and HSA offer a tax-free way to pay for medical and health-related expenses not covered by your health or vision insurance.

In most cases, benefits that have not been used during the calendar year cannot be transferred over to the new benefit period (typically January, 1st). This means that if you do not USE the money by the end of your benefits year (usually December 31st) you will LOSE it.

Have you taken advantage of these benefits this year?

Most vision insurance plans entitle you to one comprehensive eye examination annually. Some plans also offer an allowance or discounts toward eyewear or contact lenses each year.

Fall is a great time to check your benefits. If you have not had an annual comprehensive eye exam or have remaining flexible spending or health saving dollars fall is a great time to schedule an exam, and get new glasses or contacts.

Wyomissing Optometric Center welcomes current, past and new patients to schedule a comprehensive eye exam.  Schedule an appointment today.
