National Recognition for Early Detection of AMD

Wyomissing Optometric Center was one of the earliest adopters of dark adaptation testing to aid in the early diagnosis of Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD). Our Doctors use the Maculogix AdaptDx® and AdaptDx Pro®  to help identify and manage AMD patients early, often before, irreversible vision loss has occurred. Recently, Dr. Amanda Legge and Dr. Glenn Corbin were included in the nationally recognized Maculogix AMD supplement to the Review of Optometry. Maculogix also presented a $25,000 check to Salus University/PCO to fund eligible students in their educational endeavors. This endowment recognizes Dr. Corbin and his colleague Dr. Gary Kirman for their contributions to research in the early detection of AMD.
